Lincoln Aero-modellers have been established for 51 years. We are a friendly club, affiliated to the British Model Flying Association, flying fixed wing model aircraft (including gliders) from the village of South Scarle, in between Newark and Lincoln, approximately 4 miles off the A46. The flying field is located off Plot Lane, about a quarter of a mile to the south of the village. See map.
Membership of the club extends to the Lincoln, Newark, Grantham and Nottingham areas, with a broad range of membership ages. We feel this age range will provide new members with a rich stream of knowledge at all levels of flying, in a safe and friendly environment to fly and enjoy your models.
The club has a very good relationship with both the landowners and the villagers of South Scarle, which we intend to continue through the safe flying of our models and a respect for the village and it’s residents whilst gaining access to our site. Our field is adjacent to an active full size grass strip, in which a good working relationship also exists to operators of full sized aircraft which frequently use the strip throughout the year. See Club Rules and Code of Practice for more details.
Due to the advancement in battery and electric motor development over the years, club members predominantly fly electric powered aircraft, however IC powered aircraft are still welcomed at the field, with many members still flying glow fuel and petrol engined models.
All ages and levels of flying ability are welcomed at the club. The club can offer taster sessions and some training using a ‘buddy box’ system. For more details please contact the Committee members. See Admin & Committee Members page.
Please note, Helicopters and Multi-rotors are not flown from the the field.
